Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Guidelines
The Hendricks County Community Foundation is proud to partner with Lilly Endowment, Inc. to select Hendricks County high school seniors as nominees for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program.
The scholarship provides FULL TUITION, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Criteria
To be eligible, student must:
• Be a Hendricks County resident
• Be ranked in the top 15% (GPA) of his/her class
• Be involved in significant community service activities throughout his/her high school career
• Be involved in extracurricular activities
• Graduate by the end of June with a diploma from a regionally accredited Indiana high school
• Be accepted to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana.
Priority will be given to community service, leadership and academics. Community service activities may be done as an individual or in a group. The activities may benefit an individual, community organization, school, church, etc.
Disqualified Persons
Family members (including spouse, brothers and sisters by whole or half blood, ancestors, children, step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren) of a person who is currently serving as a member of the Hendricks County Community Foundation Board of Directors, Board of Advisors, Staff, or the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Committee are NOT eligible for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.
Application
Applications must be submitted online.
This online application for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship becomes valid only when completed in its entirety. The application for scholarships awarded in 2012 is now available. The application includes:
1. Two (2) recommendations submitted and received online through the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure the Recommenders submit their recommendation by the deadline.
2. Guidance Counselor Information Request submitted and received online through the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure the Guidance Counselor submits the information and sends a transcript by the deadline.
3. Transcript sent by Guidance Counselor to the Hendricks County Community Foundation office at 5055 East Main Street, Suite A, Avon, IN 46123 or via email to eric@hendrickscountycf.org.
4. Certification Form printed, signed and mailed to the Hendricks County Community Foundation office.
5. Activities Form submitted through online application.
6. Submitted online application. The online application allows you to edit and update your application.
